Reyna Violeta Gozme La Fuente, conocida como la ‘Reina’ del narcotráfico en Perú

In a recent report by the Paraguayan National Anti-Drug Secretariat (Senad), accessed by EL DEBER, a Peruvian woman was arrested during a routine check at the General Customs Management grounds in Mariscal Estigarribia, Alto Paraguay department.

Known as the “Queen of Drug Trafficking”, she initially identified herself to Paraguayan police using an ID issued by Segip under the false name of Norma Claros Torrico. However, following information exchange with Bolivian authorities, her true identity was revealed as Reyna Violeta Gozme La Fuente, aged 43.

The assigned prosecutor, Laura Ávalos, ordered the detention of the woman, who will be prosecuted for possession of forged documents. She was also transferred to the police station in the city of Loma Plata. According to official sources from Senad and media reports, Reyna Violeta heads an international drug trafficking organization involved in the processing, storage, and air transportation of drugs from the Apurímac, Ene, and Mantaro River Valley (Vraem) – a geopolitically significant area of Peru located in the dense jungles of the Huanta, Satipo, and La Convención provinces – to Bolivia, Paraguay, and Brazil.

It is believed that the “Queen of Drug Trafficking” moved between Bolivia and Paraguay to coordinate the shipment of drug cargoes from clandestine airstrips in Peruvian territory.

Based on gathered information, the woman is considered the main collector of cocaine produced in the Vraem area, capable of accumulating up to 5 tons of the illicit substance. She also faces at least three judicial processes in her home country for drug trafficking.
